Art Guild Curtain Rods
Curtain rods don’t have to be plain and boring. Even if you have luxurious curtains, you can still have sophisticated and even artistic curtain rods to enliven your window.

Interior Decorating has several collections of curtain rods. The Affordable Art Guild Collection is Murano inspired glass finials, which have been hand glazed. There are six different finials and four rod finished to choose from.

The Blue Vase Finial has some feminine detailing with the flower like shape and ruffled edge. The robin’s egg blue color will definitely pop.

The Cappuccino Vase Finial has a simple design, but the cream and gold color is a sophisticated palette that will complete your window treatments.

These artistic curtain rods will enhance any window, and you don’t even have to have the finest draperies.

Ceramic Tile That Looks Like Hardwood Flooring
I personally love this style and this would be terrific in a bathroom or kitchen.

LINDSAY ~ 3 JULY 2007
FLOORS

The best way to get the genuine look of hardwood flooring is to, well, install hardwood floors. But wood can be on the expensive side, so many homeowners look for alternatives. Also, it’s not always a good fit in a bathroom, kitchen, or other areas that might see frequent moisture. Likewise, laminate flooring can warp if it gets wet often. That’s why ceramic tiles are popular in bathrooms, entryways, and kitchens. But most of them don’t look much like wood.

The Woodlands 6×20 Interceramic ceramic tiles come in styles that mimic hardwood floors. They have cherry, maple, sherwood, chestnut, and oak. “The wood look gives the room a warm, familiar atmosphere that is inviting and after all the guests have left, the easy maintenance of ceramic floor will make sure you don’t spend all night cleaning.” (as if I would have spent all night cleaning anyway)

An Urban House With Inner Space by Iwamoto Scott
Written by Stefan

Mar 17,2010
Constructed from an older structure in the dense San Francisco area, this house is only 1200 square feet in area with height constraints as well. Was designed by IwamotoScott. However, the architect has done a wonderful job in using these constraints as a strength and built a house which is modern, well ventilated, and also has open spaces like a deck and a courtyard connecting to the street lined with wooden frames. The house has sliding doors and windows with a façade made of channel-glass lined with steel tubes. The house has a decking made of Ipe wood and a rainscreen siding too. The interior design gives an impression of spaciousness and richness with Pecan wood flooring.via archdaily
